What To Expect

Now Open!

Pregnant and ready for change?
Here we walk beside you as you pave your path.

Mater Filius Colorado Springs is a Catholic apostolate created to walk alongside women facing an unexpected pregnancy and in need of support.

Facing an unexpected pregnancy can bring with it many questions and challenges. Our staff and programs will help women face these challenges with grace and courage.  Some of the most common concerns expressed by young women at our affiliate homes in other states who did not expect their pregnancy, include:

  • I’m just not ready to have a child.
  • How can I afford to have this baby?
  • How do I tell my family and/or friends?
  • What if the father of the baby is not supportive?
  • What if I am considering abortion?
  • How does adoption work?
  • How can I continue my education?
  • Where will I live?

The supportive staff of Mater Filius understands very well that each person’s situation is unique. We are here to support every young woman as she addresses her concerns through our professional, caring and life-affirming programs.

How Will Mater Filius Help?

Pregnant teenagers and women with children under the age of five will be welcome regardless of their ethnicity, marital status, religious beliefs or socio-economic status.

Women will receive housing, counseling, medical care, and emotional and spiritual support at no cost to them. Through workshops, they will learn how to parent. Through prayer, they will understand the love that Jesus Christ has for them and that they have the right to be authentically loved.

Mater Filius focuses on both the mother and the unborn baby. We embrace women and will offer them safety and peace inside our home. A stable and nurturing environment is essential to a healthy pregnancy, a healthy birth, and a healthy new parent.

As occurs in our affiliate homes in other states, our home will offer a dynamic and vibrant family life. In those homes, each member of the house, regardless of their role, is changed profoundly by the experience. In this way, Mater Filius not only provides for the physical and emotional needs of the pregnant women who are our guests, but also encourages the growth of the donors, volunteers, and staff.
